We recently engaged with a group of young children to understand their needs and ideas for the design of a new creative space tailored just for them. Their invaluable feedback helped guide the direction of the design, ensuring the space truly reflects their interests and imaginations. Along with input from the children, we also consulted with educators and staff members who work closely with them, gathering insights from their experiences. This collaborative approach was further enriched by research and observations gathered from similar initiatives and design reports focused on children's creative environments. Key suggestions, such as the desire for areas dedicated to art, play, and quiet reflection, were integral in forming the new concept. Throughout the design process, we focused on making sure that the space fosters creativity while prioritising accessibility. Every corner of the space has been thoughtfully planned to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment where all children feel free to explore and express themselves.
